Washington's economy is growing, with over 1.5 million job openings expected by 2032. Three in four of these jobs will require post-high school credentials. Yet, just 40% of Washington students are on track to complete an apprenticeship, certificate, or degree by age 26. To ensure Washingtonians continue to thrive, we must remove barriers to higher education and support students in earning credentials. Washington's students rely on financial aid programs like the Washington College Grant and Bridge Grant. We urge the Legislature to honor its commitments to these vital programs. Support like navigators in schools, help with financial aid applications, and other resources are key to reaching the state's 70% credential attainment goal. Polling shows that 76% of Washingtonians view post-high school education as essential, and 75% support the 70% goal. We know lawmakers have hard choices in front of them. Your support is crucial for ensuring Washington's students succeed and contribute to a thriving economy. Thank you for your partnership.
